Overnight Oats and Weetabix in our fancy new jars!

     Overnight Weetabix

(Willa typed up the following before school this Monday morning 24/3/25)

Overnight oats

We made overnight oats.

We used melted peanut butter.

10/10 I think melted peanut butter is better than normal stuff.  I like the smooth stuff not the chunky stuff.

We also made overnight weetabix.

We used strawberry yoghurt.

Mum's bit:  RECIPE'S

We vary the oats every time because Willa likes variety.  We don't actually have a photo of the one we made with the melted peanut butter that Willa is writing about in the blog because it disappeared before we got one :) We vary between Almond milk, Shetland milk, but mostly start by putting the oats or weetabix in and then pouring the milk so that it completely covers the dry ingredients and then maybe a cm or two extra on top. I made the mistake of putting far too much milk in to start with and then it was still runny the next morning.  For the Oats, we mostly put a spoon of honey in and half a spoon of vanilla essence, and a teaspoon (or shake) of cinnamon.  Then we leave overnight and top up in the morning with natural yogurt, and any fruit topping. Sometimes we skip the yogurt, just depends what we have in the house. One time we tried putting the peanut butter in the microwave to soften for approx 20 seconds and then poured it over the top.  Willa loved that, and was telling me this morning that she would like to do that again.  For the Weetabix one last night we simply added milk for the overnight bit, then layered up with strawberry greek yoghurt and raspberries.

We've been having discussions about this on one of my mum chats this morning.  Following a suggestion from Eilidh, Willa and me have decided that tomorrow instead of the overnight oats we are going to have hot gruel, with banana mashed in among it, with hot peanut butter drizzled on top! Variety is the spice of life.  We love doing different breakfast ideas!  If anybody has tried anything lately that you've really enjoyed please pm me and I'll see if Willa wants to try it :)

Have a good week everybody!
