NEW YEARS EVE PREP

Image
SMARTIE MALLOWS We are invited to a New Years Eve party tomorrow night!   We discussed lots of different things that we could make but the favourite always comes back to smartie mallows!  Nina gives this a googolplex (biggest number you can get according to google).  Willa's taste buds must have changed since we've been avoiding sugar - she now thinks they are a bit too sickly and would prefer dark chocolate! We have a few more things to make tomorrow! Happy New Year when it comes! P.S  As Willa's mum I am aware these are not healthy treats - however I would rather she makes and eats occasional 'regular sweets' with my blessing, and doesn't feel the need to sneak them behind my back.  We try to keep sugary sweets to a minimum but haven't banned them completely.  Other people may parent differently but we all just have to find our own way of bringing up our bairns, whatever individual needs they have.

GINGERBREAD MEN FAE NETTA

Image
We got these Gingerbread men from Granny Linda's pal Netta for Christmas.  We got them done when we were up at Granny's the day before yesterday.   We had really good fun icing them.   Willa: 'I thought the icing was a bit creamy but the ginger man was really good.'   Nina: 'I enjoyed making it but I don't really like the taste of the ginger man.  I kinda liked the icing, and I loved the smarties!! TEA AT JOANNE'S

FETA PASTA! Willa speaking, mum typing:  'I found a recipe I thought looked really good when we were looking on TikTok.  I was really excited because I thought Joanne would really like this one.  It was a kinda silly man that was making it, but it was feta cheese, and I know that Joanne loves feta cheese.  Mum had to go out but I got Dad to phone Joanne to tell her about it.  She was in Fjara having a meal when I phoned her, but she thought it sounded really good and invited me for tea. I was really excited.' Here is the write up Joanne sent us afterwards!

TRADITIONAL DANCING AT SCHOOL

DANCING AT SCHOOL! Willa's words (Mammy typing).  'Today we had traditional dancing at school!  It was fun.  I danced with Jackson and I think he is a natural dancer.  I think dancing is good because it gets your blood pumping.   I have had a hard week with an ear infection - but today the antibiotics kicked in, and I feel so much better and the dancing really cheered me up.   I really enjoy the dancing, so I think people are happy to dance with me because I look so smiley when Maria tells me to dance with somebody.  Maria is really nice and kind.   My mam has been telling me that she didn't like dancing at school because she felt shy and embarrased.  That is not like me at all!!’:)

GRINCH CHRISTMAS SANTY'S

GRINCH CHRISTMAS SANTY'S   Today we copied a video that popped up on facebook where they made these cute peerie Grinch Santy's.  Both Willa and Nina have the cold, and were needing a vit C boost so these were a bit of a fun way of getting the vitamins in, and they tasted good too :)  Willa's comments:  'They were cool.  I would give them a google out of 10.'  Nina's comments:  'I would give them a million google hundred' they were really good.  I love them.’
